Micro Cassegrain SystemiMCSj



Micro Cassegrain system (MCS) can measure the local A/F and flame characteristics in practical engines.
In-cylinder radical intensities in flame chemiluminescence are collected by Micro Cassegrain (MC) optical probe and detected by photomultipliers with optical filters. Local A/F and flame characteristics are calculated from radical intensities and flame arrival timing. This system can provide the useful information for engine development such as A/F fluctuation near the spark plug for each cylinder, quantification of the flame characteristics (flame propagation speed, etc.) and combustion
analysis for the cold start condition*. (* need Imagineeringfs consulting)
